A new residential development in Clayton South, Victoria, will tick all the boxes for its new occupants, thanks to the incorporation of high performance window and door framing products from Carinya’s Select and Classic ranges. Consisting of 60 one and two bedroom units, the recently completed four level building has utilised the best of Carinya’s popular ranges as well as drawing on window framing solutions from Alspec as required.

Each apartment includes a private balcony or courtyard, accessed through Carinya Classic Sliding Doors. Developed in the commercial environment, these modern-styled doors offer a range of desirable performance specifications including end caps which conceal cavities and the lack of exposed tracks. Combined with internal weather flaps, these features work together to minimise water and air infiltration and keep out dust and insects. While the general Alspec proprietary roller option was utilised for this build, a heavy duty roller option is also available if larger panels are required, as they can accommodate twice the weight of glass.

For outward opening hinged doors the Carinya Select Hinged Door was the ideal choice. With their superior style and function, the Select Hinged Doors give the apartments their modern look, while providing exceptional strength and performance. Utilised in both internal and external locations, the Select doors feature an 85mm wide face on all sides, which provides the capacity to accommodate a variety of lock options providing versatility in the residential apartment environment.

Meanwhile, Carinya Select Awning Windows were chosen for openable windows because, like their door counterparts, they are extremely strong and durable. With designer bevelled edges and integrated hinges, the overall window frame delivers a visually appealing clean finish. The 92mm width frame was chosen for this build and is complemented by the standard large integrated sill which provides a stable base for chain winders.  

In other areas of the building featuring larger fixed glass panels, two key Alspec framing products were utilised: ecoFRAMEplus 101.6 mm Centre Pocket Double Glazed Framing and Hunter Evo 150mm Single Flush Glazed Framing. The ecoFRAMEplus is a particularly versatile framing option which has energy efficiency properties and can accommodate both single and double glazing solutions with ease while the Hunter Evo has exceptional sound-reducing properties. Frequently used in commercial shopfront applications, the Hunter Evo is also desirable because of its ability to span large spaces. Both products integrate with the Carinya range, making them ideal for this build.

With the development now completed all that is left is for the new residents to move in, relax and enjoy their comfortable, secure and well-equipped apartments.
